Ashley Amrita Thesier
I am the creative principle
Yoga Helps Me BE: Fearlessly Authentic, Bold, Loving, Compassionate, Graceful, Adventurous, Courageous, Vulnerable, Steady, Focused, Gentle, Discerning, Playful, Patient, Forgiving, Accepting, Strong & Brave Enough to KNOW Myself and ALL of Creation as an Aspect of the DIVINE.Guided by the purpose of healing, Ashley Amrita Thesier has dedicated her life’s path to the practice of yoga and to providing a holistic approach that does not end at the mat.A global spirit thirsting for knowledge beyond the West, Ashely devoted her academic studies to a bachelor’s degree in global affairs from George Mason University and a master’s degree in international relations from Troy University.
Her love and respect for the East surpassed the boundaries of textbooks, directing her to seek Eastern understanding of body and mind. In her search she discovered that she wanted to ignite an individual’s own alchemy—transforming their body and spirit.
Healing is rooted in her upbringing. It is a family calling; it is multigenerational. Her grandfather and father, both chiropractors, and her mother, a nurse, all sought to remedy the infirmed. Instinctively Ashley is drawn to the restoration of others. She spent over a decade providing massotherapy care to clients and then 18 years ago she sought her continuation of service through yoga. Under the tutelage of Anna Pitman and Dr. Donald Glassey,
Ashley began instructing yoga. Her global studies along with yoga navigated her toward adventures in China where she taught at the Westin Hotel in Beijing. She then led workshops and retreats in Costa Rica, Italy, Aruba and France. Ashley has twice been invited to unfurl her mat for the Live Be Yoga Tour Hosted by Yoga Journal.

The quest to guide inner and outer rejuvenation has taken Ashley around the world and back home to the South after she completed an internship with the U.S. Mission to the United Nations in 2010. She did not resettle in Virginia, the land of her childhood; Ashley, her husband and young son have nested in the land of sun and sea—Florida. Always a trailblazer, Ashley created the first yoga studio in Ybor City. The award-winning studio was under her ownership and care for eight years before its sale in April of 2019.
A free spirit cannot be static: Ashley has unsaddled herself from business distractions and the confines of a brick and mortar studio. She is broadening her healing reach by continuing to mentor yoga practitioners and instructors. Like her sister, an early-childhood education teacher, Ashley enjoys nurturing seekers of knowledge. She has trained over 150 instructors during her 18 years of yoga service and is propelled to cultivate conscientious instructors who inspire a practice that engages the physical and spiritual aspects of the higher Self and ultimate reality.
